Unisys Wins Task Orders from U.S. Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture ProgramThree Task Orders Expand Scope of Company’s Longstanding Relationship with DOJ
BLUE BELL, Pa., June 26, 2008 - The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has awarded Unisys (NYSE: UIS) three task orders to provide professional and technical services – including investigative services, training, and program analysis – in support of the DOJ Asset Forfeiture Program (AFP). The task orders, part of a $475 million multi-vendor, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity Professional Assistance Contract 2 (PACS 2) awarded in March 2008, enable Unisys to continue and expand its longstanding support of the DOJ and its enforcement efforts.
The AFP is a nationwide law enforcement program that manages assets forfeited in the prosecution of criminals and criminal enterprises. As part of the PACS 2 award, Unisys is eligible to compete for task orders to provide a range of services to AFP management and field professionals. These services include investigative and analytical services, consulting, technical services, and case-related professional support during the investigation and prosecution of criminal cases.
Unisys has a longstanding partnership with the DOJ, providing IT support services to the AFP since 2002. In addition, Unisys has worked on other essential DOJ programs such as assisting in the development of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Next-Generation Combined DNA Index System and partnering with the Bureau of Prisons to implement and support the Inmate Telephone System.
In the initial round of task orders under PACS 2, DOJ awarded Unisys task orders to support the following programs.
Department of Homeland Security U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Asset Forfeiture Program – Unisys will provide professional and investigative staff to support the ICE Asset Forfeiture Program. Services will include accounting and financial analysis support to help locate illegally obtained assets; training course development and delivery; and audits and site surveys to ensure implementation and compliance with ICE forfeiture-related regulations and policies.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration Office of Criminal Investigations (FDA/OCI) Asset Forfeiture Program – This task order is a continuation of Unisys long-term professional support to the FDA/OCI Asset Forfeiture Program. Unisys will continue to provide investigative professionals to support forfeiture-related aspects of OCI investigations. In addition, the company will implement a plan for the strategic use of forfeiture program resources to identify, review, and analyze information, records and documents in support of FDA/OCI criminal investigations. Unisys will also develop and conduct forfeiture-training courses.
Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys’ (EOUSA) Financial Litigation Investigator Program (FLIP) – Under this award, Unisys will support individual EOUSA organizations and their Financial Litigation Units with investigative services to ensure the collection of government-owned debts, litigation costs and fines, as well as the resolution of restitution orders.
“With the new task order awards, Unisys looks forward to extending its longstanding relationship with the Department of Justice and its asset forfeiture and tracking programs,” said Ted Davies, managing partner, civilian agencies, Unisys Federal Systems. "Since 2002, we have applied our diverse professional and IT support services to help the Department of Justice advance the mission of these vital programs.
