IDC MarketScape Names Unisys as a Leader in Systems Integrators Serving the U.S. Federal Government
Report evaluated companies based on capabilities such as security, cloud, data analytics and digital government services
BLUE BELL, Pa., September 9, 2016 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced it has been named a "Leader" in an IDC MarketScape report evaluating systems integrators serving the U.S. federal government.
The report, "IDC MarketScape: U.S. Systems Integrators Serving the Federal Government 2016 Vendor Assessment," (doc #US41687116, August 2016) recognized Unisys Federal's "speed and agility in serving targeted clients," as well as its focus on helping federal clients achieve their missions on time and on budget.
"IDC rates Unisys highly for the quantifiable outcomes achieved by its federal government clients, its depth in specific practices for government domains, and its cost management strategy for the benefit of its federal government clients," the report said.
The IDC MarketScape report specifically noted Unisys' investments in key areas like security and the cloud through offerings like Unisys Stealth®, micro-segmentation software that creates segments within an organization where only authorized users can access information. Stealth cryptographically confines access to a single segment of the network – which can include everything from public clouds to mobile devices – so unauthorized users cannot move laterally to other parts of the organization.
The IDC MarketScape also pointed to Unisys' strength related to DevOps and Agile software development methodologies, as well as the Unisys VantagePoint™ digital business aggregation platform providing a unified view of multi-sourced, personalized service information.
"Government customers indicate that Unisys has the ability to provide technical insights and competence with a strong understanding of their government requirements as well as unique agency mission requirements," the IDC report said. "Clients appreciate Unisys blending their knowledgeable government client executives with commercial delivery teams that leverage proven commercial best practices for implementation. Unisys government customers explain this approach as getting the best of both worlds."
"This IDC MarketScape report confirms what Unisys' clients already know – that Unisys understands the needs and missions of its federal government clients and can deliver the products and services they need to achieve their objectives," said Venkatapathi "PV" Puvvada, president of Unisys Federal. "We are pleased that the IDC MarketScape has validated our approach and has named Unisys as a leader in terms of our capabilities for delivering innovative solutions to the federal government."
